Osaka Beauty Art College, Building, Osaka
A new building serving as an educational institution on a main Osaka street. The neutrally-shaped body, characterized by different coloured glass and phosphate plates randomly placed on the façade acts as a landmark but still blends in naturally with its surroundings. The communal space on the ground floor is connected to the faculty room upstairs by a void space. This architectural solution implies the ideal relationship between teaching staff and students. There is a space for the presentation of graduation projects which is divided by a thin, delicate piece of fabric hanging from the ceiling. It lets through the sunlight and gives an open feeling whilst at the same time providing privacy to the students during practice and presentation sessions.
