Kiln, Restaurant, Kyoto

A restaurant planned for the 2nd floor of the Murakami-jyu Building which houses the Bijuu Hotel in the Shi-jo area of central Kyoto. The restaurant’s head chef/director; Masayo Funakoshi spent time in her 20s in New York since which she has continued to hone her skills in various countries in the world. It was planned to create an open kitchen to provide a chef of such talent and repute with a fitting stage upon which to work and be seen. As reflected in the shop’s name, a centre-piece kiln along with the freshest of ingredients and homemade seasonings will be used to bring rich dishes with an international flavor to the public.Photography by Takumi Ota.
